4. Advance Course in Medical Education (ACME)

In keeping up with the multi-tier approach to strengthen the quality of medical education in India, one year program of Advance Course in Medical Education (ACME) was introduced in 2014. The Advance Course in Medical Education is a project-based course of one-year duration and has two contact sessions of 5 days and 3 days with one overlapping day when two batches meet and interact. The program consists of four phases; first onsite phase of five days, second phase of online learning modules for six months, third onsite phase of three days and fourth phase of online learning modules for six months. ACME is for 30% of all faculty in a medical institute, spread over various specialties. Rules and norms for enrollment and conduct of the program were laid down and eight batches of ~ 1200 faculty of colleges have successfully completed the course.
